CHATTANOOGA EDITORIAL

For over a year I have been reaching out to different planners in Tennessee and California and haven’t had much luck with establishing relationships. To be honest, it has been disheartening. I love brainstorming and helping find ways to best serve my clients and up until a few months ago I hadn’t found a planner I could recommend. Then I met Hannah from Ruth Event Co.

We met while I was home in the fall over a cup of coffee and y’all let me tell you, she is one of a kind! There are not many people that have a heart like Hannah. Within a few months, she put together a beautiful Chattanooga editorial that turned out to be one of my favorite styled shoots to date.

Due to weather in Tennessee being crazy during the colder months, we decided to wait til 2021 to get together for the Chattanooga editorial. When Hannah sent me the mood board I was so pumped. I love a non traditional editorial and this one for sure fit the bill.

We began the editorial at the Waterhouse Pavilion. It is a stunning building in the heart of Chattanooga with large windows on every wall. Florals were designed by May Flowers Chattanooga and looked absolutely stunning with (our model) Yasmin’s formal business attire. Hannah had an awesome idea of placing them down Yasmin’s pants and I am still obsessed looking through these images.

The next location was just a few short minutes away at Cherry Street Alley. Upon arriving I had Yasmin sit on some stairs before placing her in front of a painted blue wall. Some of my favorite photographs were of Yasmin holding the rose in her mouth. I don’t know what it is about those images but they speak to every part of my soul. Afterwords, I photographed her from different angles near a graffiti wall before heading up to Sunset Rock for our final destination.

I have been to Lookout Mountain before but never had the opportunity to go to Sunset Rock. Even with so much overcast it was still stunning. Yasmin was such a trooper braving not just the cold but being so high up in elevation. The gown she wore by Olia Zavozina was absolutely gorgeous and I truly couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Hannah,

Thank you so much for allowing me to be apart of this editorial. It pushed me creatively and I am still awe struck with the outcome. Every vendor you chose was superb at their craft. If you work this well on an editorial, I couldn’t imagine what you do on a wedding day! I can not wait to work with you again!

With Love,

Chels
