I have been researching the best places to elope in the Volunteer state. The first one I wanted to kick off with is the top 5 Middle Tennessee mansions for eloping. I am a huge sucker for large estates. I adore antiques and all the small details that go into these beautiful locations. By the end, I hope it may help narrow down some options for you. There are so many more to choose from but personally if I had to narrow them down these will would be my top five.

To start us off I chose Oaklands Mansion. I photographed a beautiful styled elopement there before Covid and was blown away with the architecture and beauty. It is located in Murfreesboro and not a far drive for those who want to explore what Middle Tennessee has to offer. They offer an elopement package that begins at $500 and hour and is perfect if you have fewer than 20 guests.

If you want a large wedding they have packages for that as well. One of my favorite things about Oaklands was not just the architecture but the back patio was so pretty. I could just imagine having beautiful hanging lights and candles every where. You can see some stunning images of this shoot here.

I am not going to lie, Cheekwood Estate & Gardens is on of my favorite venues in all of Tennessee. I love the 1920’s stone and vast array of greenery. Each wedding there helps support their preservation efforts. Cheekwood offers not just an elopement package but also a micro wedding package  that includes a ton of extras including your meals. If you haven’t been to Cheekwood, I highly recommend it. I am looking forward to updating you all with some amazing photos of their venue space soon!

Riverwood is actually one of the only venues I toured for our wedding almost ten years ago. The outdoor garden ceremonies are absolutely stunning and the mansion is filled with Victorian style decor. They have all inclusive packages that even include a live band. Their elopement packages can be as simple as a small intimate wedding to a one hour ceremony. If you are looking for a mixture of historical decor and a beautiful green garden, then Riverwood may be the best option for you!

The Carnton has a stunning exterior with its beautiful historical brick and large two story porch that overlooks the property. It is nestled in the heart of Franklin and offers both large weddings and small elopement packages. My personal favorite is their Garden option for both ceremony and reception. It is absolutely breathtaking and a must see for those who love Greek revival homes.

I can’t end without bringing up The Hermitage. Growing up here in Tennessee, it was always one of the top places our school would visit each year. They offer two different ceremony locations including a church option for those who love to be traditional. For receptions there are three different options available. From elopements to weddings with a capacity of 300, there is truly an option for every one.
