DEREK & CARLY | PHILADELPHIA LIFESTYLE SESSION
Matthew and I recently took a trip up North to scout venues, and while visiting photographed Derek and Carly's Philadelphia lifestyle session. Carly is a destination wedding planner (you can check her work HERE) who I met last year while taking some business coaching. She is a good friend of mine and I am excited to share some of my favorites of their session below.
Being the daughter of someone who builds homes, I have so much respect for the hard work that went into their 100+ year old home. From the tall ceilings to the layout of it all, I was mesmerized. It truly was an honor to document Carly and Derek in their home for the first time.
We began their session inside of their conservatory. This room was full of natural light and I loved incorporating black and white film into the mix. Of course, their dog Butter made his debut. You can tell he is the star of the show and runs the house.
Moving on, we photographed some sweet moments of them sitting in the window within their dinging room. I was captivated by the original hardwood floors and how well they have held up. The rich tones throughout this house made the entire session even more magical.
Afterwards, we made our way outside. Carly wore a beautiful white cotton dress which was perfect for the Philadelphia Spring weather. As they walked through their yard, you could see the pride in their faces beaming with delight. This house is their home and seeing that made Matthew and I so very excited for them.
